FISH INFORMATION NIGHT SCHEDULED
FOR MARCH 6TH IN CHANUTE
Angling prospects, as well as
aquatic nuisance species, to be discussed
February 28, 2008 - Want to know where the
really big fish are? Do you have that burning question about
your favorite lake or a question about a fishing regulation that
doesn't make sense. If so, the place to be is the "Fishing
Information Night" at Sanders Hall Auditorium, Neosho County
Community College, 800 W. 14th St., Chanute, on Thursday March
6, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Local Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks fisheries
biologists Sean Lynott (Big Hill Reservoir), Don George (LaCygne
Reservoir), and Rob Friggeri (Bone Creek Reservoir) will present
an overview of area reservoir fisheries and smaller lakes of
local interest. Prospects for the upcoming paddlefish season
will also be discussed.
To address questions regarding fisheries farther
from home, Tom Swan, regional fisheries supervisor, and fisheries
biologists Leonard Jirak and Carson Cox will also attend. The
recent discovery of zebra mussels at Perry Reservoir, and aquatic
nuisance species in general, will also be discussed.
For more information, phone 316-683-8069, 620-431-0380,
or 620-231-3173.
