Amateurs bass anglers have chance to make
a single big bass
win big money in series of three tournaments in 2009
March 28, 2009 - Tournaments on two Missouri lakes
and one in Oklahoma have been scheduled for the Big Bass Bash,
a series for amateurs only. Its unique format allows the weekend
angler a chance to win like the professionals. Unlike most fishing
tournaments which have a team arrangement where prizes are based
on total weight, the Big Bass Bash format is distinctive in that
it only takes one angler just one big bass to win! Not only do
they pay the top three overall awards, but they also award additional
cash prizes for the top 12 largest bass caught during semi-hourly
weigh-ins for a total of 96 guaranteed places for a total of
$79,000.
Currently, all Big Bass Bash tournaments are solely
financed by its owners. Over $500,000 has been paid out in cash
prizes for the six Big Bass Bash tournaments that have been held.
Anglers come from all over the Midwest and across the country
to fish these tournaments including Missouri, Illinois, Iowa,
Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Michigan, Colorado, Florida,
South Dakota, California and Tennessee.
This year, Midwest Fish Tournaments is hosting
the Big Bass Bash tournament in a new market, the scenic Table
Rock Lake. They anticipate close to 500 anglers at this tournament.
In order to promote a family atmosphere, a free barbeque at
the awards ceremony is also included.
